PGMS Plant Life Cycle
Posted on:Students from École Pine Grove Middle School in Edson took on the challenge of both using their right and left brain by combining art and science for a science project. The theory is that people are either left-brained or right-brained, meaning that one side of their brain is dominant. If you are mostly analytical and methodical in your thinking, you're said to be left-brained. If you tend to be more creative or artistic, you're thought to be right-brained. Each year, teacher Mrs. Kruse-Taylor asks her Grade 7 students to design and build their own plants using the information they have learned in science class. Not only do they label each of the main plant parts, they also explain where the plant lives and what type of adaptations it has developed. This hands-on activity is always very popular with students and showcases their knowledge and talents together.
