GNS: PCHS Student Receives Certificate of Distinction
Posted on:Grade 10 students in Ms. Randell’s Mathematics courses at Parkland Composite High School (PCHS) recently participated in the Cayley Math Contest for Grade 10 students at the University of Waterloo. Grade 10 students from around the world are able to participate in this competition. Predominantly written in Canadian provinces, questions are based on curriculum concepts common across Canada. The last few questions are designed to test ingenuity and insight. Rather than testing content, most of the contest problems test logical thinking and mathematical problem-solving.
PCHS Grade 10 student, Daniel Palisoc, placed in the top 25% of almost 20,000 participants (14,500 being from Canada), receiving a Certificate of Distinction. This opportunity for students to put their skills to the test is very well-known in Canada and internationally and is an amazing accomplishment for Daniel! Daniel is a hard-working and motivated student who continues to exceed expectations and demonstrate what it means to be a Pacer.
We are so proud of your achievements, Daniel - keep up the great work!
