GNS: Students ACEing the Art of Coffee
Posted on:At Parkland Composite High School in Edson, the Coffee Stop is open for business! Students in the Academic Center for Educational Success (ACES) program have opened a coffee shop for staff. Staff, and special guests, are able to stop by for a coffee or tea made to their liking! The Coffee Stop provides the ACES students with positive interactions and the opportunity to develop important skills to prepare them for their transition out of high school.
The ACES program was developed to support students to successfully move from a traditional school environment into individualized adult programming in consultation with outside agencies. The ACES classroom focuses on life skills with the intent to prepare students for adulthood, whatever that may look like for them as individuals. Students in the ACES program are from Grades 9-12 and typically spend half the day within the ACES classroom and half the day integrated into classes that they enjoy - usually options (Foods, PE, Art, etc).
