GNS 241021 School Bus Safety Week

Posted on:

October 21 to 25 is School Bus Safety Week across Alberta which is an opportunity for everyone who rides a school bus, or knows someone who rides a school bus, to join forces in highlighting the importance of school bus safety. Every year, the Alberta Student Transportation Advisory Council puts on a provincial poster contest for students from kindergarten to grade 6 to promote bus safety as well. This year's theme is Bus Rule - Be Clever, Dress for the Weather Prevention is the key to safety; families are encouraged to visit our website to learn more about the Division's bus safety protocols. With education and awareness, all children should be able to get safely to school and home again.

GYPSD has been working with our schools throughout September and October to promote school bus safety through Buddy's Grande Yellow Bus Adventure in kindergarten classes and school-wide bus evacuation drills at our schools. Thank you for working with us to keep our students safe!
