Schools Raise Over $15k for Cancer Research

Posted on:

GYPSD schools across the jurisdiction proudly stepped up in support of the annual Terry Fox Run and raised over $15,000 for cancer research. Along with the great physical exercise, many students had extra incentives for their humanitarian efforts such as an afternoon of movies and popcorn when a school's fundraising goal was reached. But to sweeten the deal, staff at SonRise in Grande Cache offered to be taped to the gym wall by students if they exceeded their goal, and Principal James Randall of Wildwood and Evansview schools agreed that students could hit him in the face with a pie. A picture is worth a thousand words...need we say more?!
