GYPSD strives to provide students with programs and experiences that support their passion, interests, and creativity. Career and Technology Studies (CTS) courses provide students hands-on opportunities to explore a variety of career pathways - like construction. Parkland Composite High School Grade 11 student Emma Burnett proudly shows off her personalized project built in the school's Construction Lab this semester. Emma built a cabinet out of birch hardwood and plywood, "demonstrating excellent commitment and attention to detail", says teacher Dylan Gullason. The cabinet contains two raised panel doors, two drawers, a shelf and a custom formed and poured concrete top. Well done Emma!
