GNS: Teachers' Advisory Group

The first meeting of the Teachers' Advisory Group (TAG) took place with Superintendent Lewis on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021. The TAG group is made up of a representative from each of the schools that make up Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. The TAG rep brings forward questions, concerns, and suggestions for the Superintendent and senior team. At the same time, the Superintendent shares background information on decision-making, system requirements and constraints, and legislative requirements from Alberta Education. The conversation is both informative and inspiring. During this first meeting of the 2021/2022 school year, the TAG reps brought forward suggestions and asked questions about Kick-Off, the Division's assessment screens, transportation, Alberta Education standardized testing, GYPSD's health and safety mandates, and the Division's focus for Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Superintendent Lewis shared her appreciation for the forum and encouraged the TAG group to reach out to her at any time; "Hearing from each of you is invaluable to our Division's success."
