GNS: Division Toy Run

The Division's Christmas Elves were once again busy filling bags of toy donations after checking their lists -twice!
Each year, central office staff personally donate toys for children in need so that everyone has a little something to enjoy during the holiday season.
Nikki Gilks, Manager of Special Projects, has coordinated the Division office annual toy drive for the last 15 years, collecting and distributing over 2,000 toys for students in GYPSD schools from K to Grade 9. Katie Brook, Executive Assistant to the Office of the Superintendent, is also a proud elf helping to sort toys over the last few years.
"When I first started, we collected toys for an average of 50 children; but over the last few years, we have been collecting for up to 200 children," Gilks noted. "I am so blessed to work with the great people at GYPSD's central office who generously give when I make the call for toy donations. I regularly get toys dropped off on my desk throughout the year in anticipation of the annual drive and have retired staff who still participate - it is truly wonderful!"
