GNS: Math Night at Wildwood

Posted on:

Success 'multiplies' when parents 'add' to the learning!

Miss Weninger and Mrs. Kowalchuk planned another successful Wildwood School's annual Family Math Night! Over 45 students, family, and friends attended the event to help promote student numeracy while having fun.

Along with the event's many activities and games that helped to promote student fluency in math, the school provided lots of fun supplies for families to take home so they can continue to practice numeracy skills at home.

After enjoying some yummy snacks and refreshments, students left with a math or wellness based door prize. Along with a focus on literacy in the early years, numeracy skills lay the foundation for future academic success and everyday life. Numeracy activities stimulate critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning, fostering a child's cognitive development. And there is nothing that says you can't have fun while learning those skills!
