GNS Learning has Launched!

Posted on:

We may only be into the second week of a new school year, but schools across the Division are already deep in learning.

Kindergarteners/Grade 1 students at Wildwood School discussed  "How to Treat a Classmate".  Students created pictures of their ideas while their older classmates wrote down their ideas on how to be a good citizen. Mr. Beck’s class at Fulham used their new outdoor classroom with a science experiment to determine what liquid mixture is the best at attracting wasps and why. Grade 4 students at Mary Bergeron Elementary in Edson are learning about the provinces and territories of Canada by working in small groups to solidify their knowledge by completing a map of Canada. Chemistry 20 students at Grand Trunk High School in Evansburg are creating and delivering presentations on various atomic theories.  And to think... these are just a few examples - wow!

During the month of September, schools will be hosting Meet the Teacher and/or Welcome-Back events. They will also be establishing the School Council schedule. These are great opportunities to connect with your child’s teacher(s), learn about the school’s goals, and ask how you can support your child’s learning journey... from start to finish this year!

Be sure to look for the Principal Weekly Parent Memo, check the school’s website, and follow the school’s social media account!
