Grande Yellowhead is proud to offer a number of excellent academic supports to help our early learners begin a great start in their learning years including access to learning specialists, current technology tools, and resources to support children with special needs.
Our Division supports exemplary early learning in meaningful, play-based, child-centered approach in our five-day, full-day, kindergarten programs offered at our elementary schools. Our kindergarten program promotes social and emotional learning, empathy, language, communication, physical activity, literacy, numeracy, inquiry, and exploration - encouraging sharing, listening, growth and development of a positive self-image. Many of our schools also offer a junior kindergarten program.
Every spring, we enter new junior kinder and kinder students for the upcoming school year into a draw to win their personal Chromebook to support learning access at home. A winner is chosen for each elementary school and presented with their Chromebook by their school principal!
