June 13:Wildfire Update - Alternate Learning Resources
Posted on:
With our recent wildfire situation and evacuation orders, many of our families and students are displaced around the province. However, students do have access to a number of alternate learning options while not in a formal classroom learning environment.
Community libraries have a number of excellent reading materials and computers for public use.
A number of Edmonton groups and public centres are offering free admission to evacuees such as the Telus World of Science and Fort Edmonton Park. Please contact the facility directly to learn more and be prepared to have an ID noting your current address for free or discounted access.
Edmonton Public Schools have graciously opened their schools for evacuated students to be guest students at their school. Families need to contact the Edmonton Public School closest to their current location and make arrangements with the principal.
The Division has also put together a document outlining a number of valuable educational online resources from K to Grade 12 that families can access click here .
Families can also reach out to their teachers to get access to assigned work or other learning supports such as Hapara workspaces
