Grande Yellowhead Public School Division has 17 schools and five off-campus learning centres which serve over 4,600 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 12 but did you ever wonder about the fabulous men and women who work behind-the-scenes who keep the lights working, the buses running, and the staff paid? GYPSD has two central office facilities located in Edson and Hinton that are home to about 50 staff: superintendent of schools, communications, facilities/ maintenance, transportation, human resources/ payroll, business/ financial services, technology, and learning services. The Division's main building in Edson, the Education Services Centre (ESC), is also the central location for regular Public Board meetings, mechanical shop, and in-house training and workshops. Although many central office staff don't have the ability to regularly visit school campuses, each and every one of them take pride in their part to ensure students are able to succeed in their learning goals.
