With our staff and students' health and safety at the top of mind, schools in Edson and Niton Junction will also be closed for tomorrow, Tuesday, May 16, 2023. The wildfire situations in various communities across our areas have created a severe air quality situation that may be very harmful to children and our staff with breathing or respiratory illness.

To prevent the smoke from getting into our schools, we need to shut down our HVAC systems. No air flow combined with high temperatures will make for an unhealthy learning and working environment within the school.

Additionally, heavy smoke is anticipated tomorrow, which will create a low-to-no visibility situation in which we will not run school buses.

We will provide you with a status update based on the information we have tomorrow afternoon/evening regarding Wednesday's operations.
