Bell’s annual Let’s Talk Day January 22, 2025, prioritizes the importance of normalizing discussions around mental health and accessing help.
This year, Bell it will prioritize youth mental health by launching a text-to-donate campaign with 100% of funds raised going to six youth mental health providers. This is in response to the recent report by Mental Health Research Canada about the growing mental health crisis among young Canadians.
As a Board Priority, GYPSD ensures every student in the Division has access to at least one adult in their school to whom they can go to talk. In addition to the Bringing Empowered Students Together (BEST) coaches, Family School Liaison Counselors, and Wellness Navigators in the Division’s schools, students are encouraged to make use of the many resources available to them through the Kids Help Phone association, and an Alberta specific platform called Kickstand where in addition to mental health support, students can reach out for counseling support to address substance use: anytime, anywhere, and is completely private.
